According to a 2018 Report from the National Association of Realtors, a patio ranked as a top 5 home improvement that is likely to add resale value to your home.
A properly placed, well proportioned concrete patio is a great way to add a low maintenance, attractive entertaining area in your yard!
A few more tips for a successful patio project:
-Build it close to the back door if possible. (If not, consider creating a path from the door to your patio).Ideally, the patio should be easy to get to from the kitchen.
-Try to choose a private area that’s at least partially obscured from the front sidewalk and your neighbors’ yards.
-Be sure that the patio is within well proportions to your yard. An overly large, overpowering patio in a smaller yard can take away from the other landscape of the yard. An undersized patio in a larger yard may not compliment your property the way it could.
- Adding patio furniture that compliments the colours of your patio adds to the overall look. Be sure the patio furniture is properly sized in comparison with the overall size of the concrete patio.
- Also consider using decorative concrete. Though a slight increase in cost, Stamped concrete and other Decorative concrete systems are a sure fire way to draw attention and envy to your yard and property in general!
